We learn that after inheriting the money from the homeless person who turned out to be a relative of her dad’s, she decided to invest some and kept a part in the bank. Then the book moves to the first person of Kinsey. So what Teddy thought that she should need to steal the painting because there was no way she could tell her ex-husband about the painting. When she went to see the painting, Ari had removed all the contents of the house. Then someone drew Teddy’s attention to a picture in one of the houses, and she was told that it could be a Turner, worth millions of dollars. They had several properties which they divided accordingly. The prologue in this book explains that Teddy Xanakis and Ari were a married couple, but when he left her for her best friend, Stella, they got divorced.
